Objectives of the Program

The graduates will be equipped with the knowledge that enables them to execute the following tasks:

  • Undertake project identification, pre-feasibility and feasibility study and detail design of civil engineering works.
  • Prepare complete design documents in civil engineering, monitor and evaluate the operation and maintenance works.
  • Remodel and rehabilitate of existing design works.

Infrastructure

Generally, all the classes of Civil Engineering program are taught in the old and new buildings of Addis College. There are adequate lecture/tutorial/class rooms for delivering teaching and learning process. Teaching and learning in general is supported by the use of modern technology. There are four general-purpose PC labs which are accessible to students and researchers in civil engineering. These labs have an average of 30-networked PCs. They are located in two different buildings. There are also computersready for word processing, spreadsheet and database and power point applications to facilitate the Program to be effective.

Academic and Support Staff

The quality of an educational program depends strongly on the quality of the staff who provide teaching and student support. The department has well qualified academic staff who can teach the courses and to give project works necessary to qualify in Civil Engineering program.
