ICT Unit
- ICT Unit has a service prepared for all programs (postgraduate, undergraduate and TVET) of the college with available computers for practical education and training.
- ICT Hardware and system software installation, maintenance and similar advancements.
- Network provision and development.
- Provide ICT Support for academic staffs, administrative staffs, professional services staff and students.
- Maintain ICT systems and data integrity and security of the campus.
- Upgrade website address of the college as per the need.
- Implement and maintain best practice and to date ICT governance.
.Computer Laboratory’s
This computer laboratory has a defined space which provides computer services tothe whole community of Addis College. What will be done?
- installing operating system;
- configuring required software;
- upgrading hardware’s;
- Software archiving;
- handling virus problems and recovery issues;
- basic maintenance for both software and hardware;
- Monitoring laboratory resource.
Rules and Regulations
Computer Misuse
- These rules apply to all users of computer and network facilities in Addis College. Installing unnecessary software, moving computers, dismantling key boards and mouse, etc are completely disallowed.
Concerning hardware
- Plugging personal network accessories, hard drive, flash drive, and CD drive are not allowed
- Only use authenticated IP number/address.
- The state and status of computers
- It is mandatory that all users MUST install antivirus, functional operating system and keep it up to date. /only for TVET students/;
- Computer users are responsible for the status of their computer;
- Using the network for personal benefit like commercial purpose will lead to punishment
Computer Suite Rules
- Authorized users must wear appropriate suite while accessing computers and other facilities with in the computer room.
- Non-authorized persons are not permitted to use the facilities without wearingthe suite.
Software Rules
- The software and any datasets supplied by the College must be use relevant supplier’s license agreements.
- Software should neitherbe neither copied from the network nor downloaded from internet.
